Project Sewak of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its historical existence of 50 years on October 10, 2011.
The Project was raised in July 1961 primarily for the development of roads in Naga Hills and Tuensang areas. Due to inherent difficult and inhospitable terrain and inability of any other organisation to undertake developmental work in these areas, it was felt that only BRO would undertake works of constructing roads.
