Army Ordnance Corps

Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) is responsible for provisioning, receipt, accounting, warehousing, stocking, issue, conditioning, repair and disposal of all types of Ordnance stores (Armament, Vehicle spares, Electronic equipment, General Stores and Clothing), Vehicles, Aviation stores and Ammunition.
French emperor Napoleon had once famously said, an army marches on its stomach. But for all its stomach-filled strength, what good is an army without ordnance in its arsenal?
The history of AOC can be traced back to the formation of the three Presidencies of the East India Company - Bengal, Madras and Bombay - in the 15th century. The formal recognition of AOC was with the establishment of 'Board of Ordnance' on April 8, 1775.
